India to Nepal Recharge Ncell (2026): 6 Ways to Top Up from India with UPI or Card
Working in Delhi, studying in Bengaluru, or visiting family in Bihar – and someone back home needs Ncell balance right now? You cannot buy an Ncell scratch card in an Indian shop, and eSewa or Khalti will not open with an Indian bank account. The good news: you can still recharge any Ncell number in Nepal from India in under two minutes, and most methods accept UPI.
This guide compares every working route in 2026 – Indian recharge websites, Hamro Recharge, Ncell’s own app, the new UPI–NPI money link and the old scratch-card PIN trick – with what each one really costs in Indian rupees.
Quick answer
- Fastest with UPI: use an Indian Nepal-recharge site such as Exikart or Ncellrecharge.com. Enter the 98/97 Ncell number, pick the NPR amount, pay in INR by UPI, RuPay or card.
- Fair price check: NPR 100 = ₹62.50 at Nepal Rastra Bank’s fixed rate (1 INR = 1.60 NPR). Anything above that is the site’s fee or margin.
- Minimum: Ncell’s minimum online top-up is Rs 50.
- Check it worked: the receiver dials *101# to see the new balance.

All 6 Ways to Recharge Ncell from India Compared
There is no single “official India–Nepal recharge”. Each route below works, but they suit different people. Pick the row that matches what you have – a UPI app, an international card, or someone in Nepal who can help.
| Method | You pay with | Speed | Cost vs fixed rate | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Indian recharge sites (Exikart, Ncellrecharge.com) | UPI, RuPay, Indian debit/credit card, net banking | Usually instant | Small fee or margin, shown before you pay | Most people in India |
| 2. Hamro Recharge | Card with international payments on | Seconds | Charged in USD – your bank adds forex markup | People who already use Hamro Patro |
| 3. Ncell app / website | Nepali wallet, bank or card | Instant | Face value + bonus data on Rs 100+ | Anyone who still has a Nepali wallet or bank account |
| 4. UPI–NPI transfer | UPI (participating banks) | Real-time transfer, family recharges | Low; bank fee only | Regular senders, bigger amounts |
| 5. Scratch-card PIN | Someone in Nepal buys the card | As fast as they send the PIN | Face value | Your own SIM on roaming in India |
| 6. Balance transfer / Sapati | Another Ncell user’s balance, or a loan | Instant | Small service charge | Emergencies only |
✓ I only have UPI
Use Method 1. Pay the INR total shown at checkout.
✓ I send money home every month
Use Method 4 and let family recharge in the Ncell app for bonus data.
✓ My own Ncell SIM is with me in India
Method 1 or 5 works on a roaming number too. See the roaming section.
How Much Does an Ncell Recharge Cost in Indian Rupees?
The Nepali rupee is pegged to the Indian rupee: 1 INR = 1.60 NPR, so 1 NPR = ₹0.625. That fixed rate is your benchmark. Divide the Ncell amount by 1.6 to get the fair INR price, then compare it with the “Total Payable INR” a website shows you.
Ncell recharge amount vs INR at the fixed rate
What pushes the price up:
- Site margin or convenience fee. Indian recharge sites earn from a fee or a slightly worse rate. Exikart says any cross-border fee is displayed on the checkout screen before payment.
- Forex markup. Services that charge in US dollars (Hamro Recharge, international top-up apps) make your Indian bank convert INR to USD – usually with a markup of a few percent on top.
- Tiny recharges. A fixed fee hurts most on Rs 50. If you recharge often, one Rs 500 top-up is usually cheaper than five Rs 100 ones.
Method 1: Recharge Ncell from India with UPI on Indian Recharge Websites
This is what most people searching “India to Nepal recharge Ncell” end up using. These are private Indian sellers that take your INR and push the NPR top-up to the Ncell number. The ones you will see most:
| Website | Payment | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Exikart (exikart.in) | UPI, RuPay, Visa, Mastercard | No login needed for a single recharge. Asks for your email and a 10-digit Indian WhatsApp number. Shows the INR total before you pay. Separate pages for Ncell balance and Ncell data packs. Failed recharges are refunded to the Exikart wallet or your source account, per its FAQ, within 24–48 hours. |
| Nepalekart (nepalekart.com) | Same as Exikart | Its instant-recharge buttons for Ncell send you to Exikart’s pages, so treat the two as one service. Also offers dealer and sub-dealer accounts for shops. |
| Ncellrecharge.com | UPI, debit/credit card, net banking, own wallet | Ncell top-up listed from Rs 50 to Rs 5,000. Has an Android app and sells Ncell data, SMS and roaming packs too. Despite the name, it is not Ncell’s official website. |
| PayToNepal (paytonepal.com) | Cards, PayPal shown | Its footer credits Ncell Recharge. Its Ncell data-pack list includes packs Ncell has since changed (for example an old Rs 35 = 1.25 GB pack), so check the pack in the Ncell app before buying a data pack here. |
Step by step (works the same on most sites)
Step 1
Choose Ncell (balance) or Ncell Data Packs.
Step 2
Enter the 10-digit Ncell number (starts 980, 981, 982, 970…). Do not add +977 unless the site asks.
Step 3
Pick the NPR amount (Rs 50 or more) and add your email/phone for the receipt.
Step 4
Check the INR total against the fixed rate, re-read the number, then pay by UPI or card.
Step 5
Save the order ID. The receiver gets an SMS from Ncell and can dial *101#.
Important: mobile top-ups cannot be pulled back. Exikart’s own confirm screen warns that transactions are irreversible. One wrong digit sends the balance to a stranger – read the number aloud before you pay.
Method 2: Hamro Recharge (Hamro Patro)
Hamro Patro’s Hamro Recharge (hamropatro.com/recharge) sends top-ups to Ncell, NTC and Smart Cell numbers from anywhere. It works through international payment gateways, so the price depends on the gateway and card.
- Your Indian card must have international transactions enabled (switch it on in your bank app first).
- Hamro Recharge supports USD, JPY, AUD and EUR. From India you will normally be charged in US dollars, so expect your bank’s forex markup on top.
- Best if you already use Hamro Patro or your family is abroad in several countries – one account for everyone.
Method 3: Ncell App or Ncell Website
Ncell’s official recharge page (ncell.com.np → Recharge) lets you enter any +977 Ncell number and an amount, and also has Scratch Card and Toll Free Recharge options. The Ncell app does the same and lets you recharge friends and family from your login.
The catch for people in India: payment runs through Nepali options – wallets, Nepali bank cards and mobile banking. Indian UPI is not one of them. If you still hold a Nepali bank account, eSewa or Khalti, this is the cheapest route because you pay face value.
Bonus data only in the Ncell app
Ncell gives extra data on online recharges made in the Ncell app: 200 MB (1 day) for Rs 100–199.99 and 500 MB (3 days) for Rs 200 and above. It also applies when you recharge family from your app login. Scratch-card and scan-to-recharge top-ups do not qualify, and because the offer covers payments made inside the Ncell App, recharges bought on third-party Indian sites are not part of it.

Method 4: Send Money by UPI to Nepal, Then Recharge Locally
Since June 2026, India’s UPI is linked with Nepal’s National Payments Interface (NPI). NPCI International and Nepal Clearing House launched this person-to-person remittance link so people can send money between the two countries in real time using a mobile number or UPI ID, starting with selected banks.
This is not a direct “recharge” button, but it is the smartest option if you support family regularly:
- Check whether your Indian bank app shows the Nepal / cross-border UPI option (availability depends on your bank).
- Send NPR to your family member’s Nepali bank account or wallet.
- They recharge their own Ncell number in the Ncell app, eSewa, Khalti or mobile banking – at face value, and with the Ncell app bonus data on Rs 100+.
One transfer can cover a month of recharges, data packs and other bills, so you avoid paying a recharge-site fee every time.
Method 5: Ncell Scratch-Card PIN Sent from Nepal
The old method still works. Someone in Nepal buys an Ncell recharge card, scratches it and sends you the 16-digit PIN by Viber or WhatsApp. Then:
| What you want | Dial |
|---|---|
| Recharge the Ncell SIM in your own phone | *902*PIN# |
| Recharge another Ncell number | *102*PIN*Mobile Number# |
| No network for USSD? | Use the Scratch Card tab on Ncell’s recharge page with the number and PIN |
More codes for balance, validity and number checks are in our Ncell USSD codes list.
Method 6: Balance Transfer or Sapati (Emergency Only)
- Balance transfer: a friend or relative in Nepal with Ncell balance can send it instantly with *17122*Receiver Number*Amount#. You pay them back later by UPI. Full rules: how to transfer balance in Ncell.
- Sapati: if the receiver’s balance is nearly zero, they can dial *9988# for emergency credit while your recharge is on the way. It is deducted from the next recharge with a fee.
Recharging Your Own Ncell SIM While You Are in India
Many Nepalis keep their Ncell number active in India for bank OTPs, eSewa and family calls. Methods 1 and 5 work on your own number even while it roams – a recharge is credited to the account, not to a location.
- Roaming must be on before you can receive OTP SMS in India. Turn it on from the Roaming tab in the Ncell app, or via the codes in the Ncell USSD list.
- Normal balance is charged at roaming rates in India. If you use data or calls daily, buy an India roaming pack from the Ncell app instead of spending main balance.
- Just need OTPs? Keep a small balance and validity alive; incoming SMS is what matters.
- Not sure the SIM is still registered in your name (important for KYC and OTPs)? Check the Ncell SIM owner name.
Avoid Scams and Wrong Recharges
✗ Red flags
- A site claiming to be “official Ncell India”
- Asking for an OTP after you have paid
- “Pay to this personal UPI ID” via a WhatsApp chat
- Rates far better than 1.6 NPR per INR
- No order ID, email receipt or support number
✓ Good habits
- Start with Rs 50–100 on a new site
- Pay inside the site’s checkout, never to a person
- Screenshot the confirmation page
- Ask the receiver for the Ncell SMS, not just “it came”
- Use a credit card for disputes if a seller vanishes
Recharge Not Received? Problems and Fixes
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| UPI debited, no balance after 10 minutes | Ask the receiver to dial *101#. If nothing, contact the seller with the order ID and UPI reference. Exikart says failed recharges are refunded within 24–48 hours. |
| “Amount should be Rs 50 or more” | Ncell’s online minimum is Rs 50. Increase the amount. |
| Card declined on Hamro Recharge | Enable international/online transactions in your bank app, or switch to a UPI-based Indian site. |
| Recharged the wrong number | Top-ups are not reversible. Contact the seller quickly anyway; if the number belongs to someone you can reach, they can send it back with a balance transfer. |
| Balance arrived but disappears fast | Usually a Sapati deduction or an active value-added service. Check active Ncell services. |
| Bought a data pack but it shows as balance | You probably used the balance page. Buy the pack from the balance via *17123# or the Ncell app. |
| Want SMS only, not data | Recharge a small amount and buy a pack from our Ncell SMS pack list. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I recharge an Ncell number from India?
Yes. Use an Indian Nepal-recharge website (Exikart, Ncellrecharge.com and similar) with UPI or an Indian card, Hamro Recharge with an international-enabled card, or ask family in Nepal to use the Ncell app after you send money by UPI.
Can I pay for an Ncell recharge with UPI, Google Pay or PhonePe?
Yes, on Indian recharge websites that accept UPI at checkout. Ncell’s own app and website use Nepali payment options, not Indian UPI.
How many Indian rupees is a Rs 100 Ncell recharge?
₹62.50 at the fixed rate of 1 INR = 1.60 NPR. Websites add a small fee or margin, which they show before payment.
Is ncellrecharge.com the official Ncell website?
No. It is a private recharge seller. Ncell’s official site is ncell.com.np, and its official app is “Ncell” on the Play Store and App Store.
What is the minimum Ncell recharge amount from India?
Rs 50. Ncell set Rs 50 as its minimum online top-up, and Indian sites follow the same floor.
Can I buy an Ncell data pack directly from India?
Yes. Exikart and Ncellrecharge.com have separate Ncell data-pack pages. Compare the pack name and price with the Ncell app first, because third-party lists can lag behind Ncell’s changes.
My payment went through but the recharge failed. Will I get a refund?
Usually yes, if the top-up was never delivered. Exikart says it refunds to your wallet or source account within 24–48 hours. Keep the order ID and UPI reference and contact the seller if it takes longer.
