AI Tools Price in Nepal (2026): ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini & 15 More in NPR
By Wilson Shrestha · Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Prices checked against each company’s official pricing page and Nepal Rastra Bank’s exchange rate
Most “AI tools price in Nepal” lists online do one of two things: they list reseller prices for six chatbots, or they convert dollar prices at an exchange rate that is months out of date. Some still use Rs 135 per dollar. Nepal Rastra Bank’s rate has been between roughly Rs 150 and Rs 155 through September and October 2026, so those lists understate every price by about 11%.
This guide covers the AI tools Nepali students, freelancers, creators, developers and small businesses actually pay for, not just chatbots: research, design, image generation, voice, writing and coding tools too. For each one you get the official price, the rupee price at today’s rate, the price with 13% VAT, what resellers charge, and how far your $500 dollar card limit really goes.

What other AI price lists for Nepal get wrong
- Old exchange rates. Converting at Rs 135 per dollar makes a $20 plan look like Rs 2,700. At October 2026 rates it is about Rs 3,045.
- Copilot Pro no longer exists for new buyers. Microsoft folded it into Microsoft 365 Premium at $19.99 a month.
- “Gemini Advanced” is now Google AI Pro, and Google AI Plus dropped to $4.99 a month in June 2026.
- Grammarly Premium is now Grammarly Pro. The $12 headline price is for yearly billing; monthly billing is $30.
- Reseller prices are not official prices. A list that only shows what Nepali shops charge can’t tell you whether you’re paying a premium or buying a shared login.
AI Chatbot Prices in Nepal: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot and DeepSeek
This is where most people start. Five of the six big assistants have converged on the same $20 price for their main plan, so the real differences are in the cheaper tiers, the yearly discounts and what each one is good at.
ChatGPT
Rs 760–3,045
Go is the budget plan; Plus is the all-rounder with image tools, deep research and custom GPTs.
Claude
Rs 2,538–3,045
Pro is strongest for long documents, writing and coding (Claude Code). Only one with a yearly discount.
Gemini (Google AI)
Rs 760–3,043
Plus and Pro bundle Google storage and Gemini inside Gmail and Docs.
ChatGPT price in Nepal
ChatGPT has the widest ladder: Free, Go, Plus at $20 (about Rs 3,045), Pro from $100, and Business from $20–25 per user. Go was launched in Nepal in October 2025 at a localized price of about $5, while the US price is now $8, so check your own upgrade screen. Plus removes ads and unlocks the advanced reasoning models, Projects and custom GPTs. Our full ChatGPT price in Nepal guide breaks down every plan, reseller rate and the shared-account risks.
Claude AI price in Nepal
Claude Pro is $20 a month (Rs 3,045) or $200 a year, which works out to about Rs 2,538 a month. That yearly option makes Claude Pro the cheapest of the $20-tier chatbots if you commit for 12 months. Pro includes Claude Code, Research and unlimited projects; Max at $100 or $200 raises the limits. Nepal is on Anthropic’s supported countries list. See our detailed Claude AI price in Nepal guide for Team plans, API rates and reseller prices.
Gemini (Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra) price in Nepal
Google sells Gemini through Google One plans. Google AI Plus launched in Nepal in October 2025 at around $5 and is now $4.99 a month (about Rs 760), with 400 GB of storage and Gemini in Gmail. Google AI Pro (the old “Gemini Advanced”) is $19.99 (about Rs 3,043) with higher limits, Deep Research and 5 TB of storage. Ultra starts at $99.99. If you already pay for extra Google storage, Pro can replace that bill, which makes its real cost lower than it looks.
Grok (SuperGrok) price in Nepal
xAI’s Grok has a free tier on grok.com and X. SuperGrok Lite is $10 (Rs 1,522), SuperGrok is $30 (Rs 4,567) and SuperGrok Heavy is $300. At $30, SuperGrok is the most expensive standard chatbot plan. It is mainly worth it if you work with live X (Twitter) trends and news.
Microsoft Copilot price in Nepal
The free Copilot app works in Nepal. Microsoft stopped selling the old $20 Copilot Pro to new customers and replaced it with Microsoft 365 Premium at $19.99 a month (about Rs 3,043), which bundles Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Copilot features. For companies, Microsoft 365 Copilot is an add-on to a business Microsoft 365 licence, not something you can buy on its own.
DeepSeek price in Nepal
DeepSeek’s chat app is free to use, with no paid consumer plan. It is a capable option for students and casual use. Its data is processed by a Chinese company, so avoid pasting client files, passwords, citizenship details or anything confidential.
| Chatbot | Budget tier | Main tier | Yearly discount | Best at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Go, Rs 760–1,218 | Plus, Rs 3,045 | No (individual) | All-round use, images, custom GPTs |
| Claude | None | Pro, Rs 3,045 | Yes, Rs 2,538/month | Long writing, documents, coding |
| Gemini | AI Plus, Rs 760 | AI Pro, Rs 3,043 | Limited | Gmail, Docs, Drive users |
| Grok | Lite, Rs 1,522 | SuperGrok, Rs 4,567 | Yes | Live X trends and news |
| Copilot | M365 Personal | M365 Premium, Rs 3,043 | Yes ($199.99/year) | Word, Excel, Outlook users |
| DeepSeek | – | Free | – | Free everyday help, low-stakes tasks |
Perplexity AI Price in Nepal (Research Tool)
Perplexity is an AI search engine that answers with numbered sources, which makes it popular with students, journalists and researchers. The Free plan is limited to a few Pro searches a day. Perplexity Pro is $20 a month (about Rs 3,045), or about $17 a month on yearly billing, and lets you switch between models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google inside one app. Education Pro costs $10 (about Rs 1,522) for verified students, and Max is $200.
Reseller listings in Nepal advertise Perplexity Pro for much less than the official price, for example Rs 2,500 or a yearly deal for around Rs 5,500. Prices that low usually come from promotional or bundled codes. They can work, but they can also be cancelled by Perplexity, so read the seller’s refund terms first.
Design, Image and Voice AI Tool Prices in Nepal
Canva Pro price in Nepal
Canva’s US list price for Pro is $18 a month (about Rs 2,740), with a cheaper yearly option. Canva shows regional prices in many countries, so your account may display a lower figure; trust the price on your own checkout page. Pro is a one-person licence, and adding a teammate moves you to Business pricing. Students and teachers at eligible schools can apply for Canva for Education for free, which is often what cheap “Canva Pro” deals on Facebook really are.
Midjourney price in Nepal
Midjourney has no free plan. Basic is $10 a month (Rs 1,522), Standard $30 (Rs 4,567), Pro $60 and Mega $120, and yearly billing takes 20% off every plan. All paid plans include commercial use rights, but on Basic and Standard your images are public; private (Stealth) mode starts at Pro.
ElevenLabs price in Nepal
ElevenLabs is the AI voice tool many YouTubers and podcast makers use, including for Nepali and Hindi voiceovers. Free is for testing only. Starter at $6 (Rs 913) adds commercial use and instant voice cloning; Creator at $22 (Rs 3,349) adds professional voice cloning and much more audio, and is often discounted for the first month.
Writing and Coding AI Tool Prices in Nepal
Grammarly price in Nepal
Grammarly Pro (the plan once called Premium) is $12 a month when paid yearly ($144, about Rs 21,923 a year) or $30 a month month-to-month (Rs 4,567). That is a big gap: paying monthly for a full year costs $360. If you use Grammarly every week, the yearly plan is the only sensible way to pay.
GitHub Copilot price in Nepal
GitHub Copilot Pro is $10 a month (about Rs 1,522), half the price of most coding assistants, with unlimited code completions and a monthly pool of AI credits. Pro+ is $39. Verified students and teachers can get Copilot through GitHub Education, so check eligibility before you pay.
Cursor price in Nepal
Cursor is an AI-first code editor. The Hobby plan is free with limits, Pro is $20 a month (Rs 3,045) with a usage credit pool, Pro+ is $60 and Ultra $200. Heavy agent use can burn through Pro’s credits before the month ends. If you already pay for Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus, their own coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) may cover what you need without a second subscription.
AI Tools for SEO and Blogging: What They Cost
If you run a blog or do SEO work in Nepal, a chatbot is only half of your toolkit. Chatbots can draft outlines and meta descriptions, but they do not have real search volume, keyword difficulty or backlink data. That comes from dedicated SEO tools, and those cost far more than any AI chatbot.
- Compare free, paid, local and AI-powered options in our best SEO tools roundup before you spend dollar card money.
- For keyword and backlink research, see the price and feature breakdown in Ahrefs vs Semrush vs Ubersuggest.
- On WordPress, both major SEO plugins now include AI features. Our Rank Math vs Yoast SEO showdown compares what you get for free and what the paid AI add-ons cost.
Budget tip for bloggers
A single $20 AI plan plus a free SEO plugin covers most of a small blog’s needs. Paid SEO suites start well above $100 a month, which would eat a $500 dollar card in under five months, so most Nepali bloggers use free tiers and trials for keyword data until the blog earns.
The Real Cost of AI Tools From Nepal
The sticker price is only the start. Four things decide what actually leaves your bank account.
COST 1
Exchange rate
Rs 3,072 for a $20 plan on 1 October, Rs 3,045 on 19 October. Same plan, different month.
COST 2
Bank margin
Banks convert at their own selling rate, usually a little above NRB’s, and some add a card fee.
COST 3
13% VAT
Foreign digital services sold to Nepali consumers are taxable at 13%. It may show at checkout.
COST 4
App store pricing
Subscribing inside the iPhone or Android app can cost more than the web price.
How VAT applies to AI subscriptions in Nepal
Under Nepal’s VAT rules, non-resident companies selling digital services to Nepali consumers must register and charge 13% VAT once their sales here cross the registration threshold, and a separate 2% Digital Service Tax applies to their Nepal income. The 2% is the company’s tax, not an extra charge on you. Whether VAT appears on your own bill depends on the company, so read the final amount on the payment screen. The “With 13% VAT” column in the table above shows the worst case.
How to pay for AI tools from Nepal
↓
YES: pay the company directly
Prepaid dollar card, or an international Visa/Mastercard with e-commerce turned on.
→ Cheapest and fully private. Pay yearly where offered. Keep $1–2 extra for tax and conversion.
NO: use a Nepali reseller
Pay with eSewa, Khalti, ConnectIPS or mobile banking.
→ Insist on activation on your own email. Avoid shared logins for any private or client work.

How Many AI Tools Fit in Your $500 Dollar Card Limit?
This is the part no other AI price list for Nepal works out. Most people here pay foreign subscriptions with a prepaid dollar card, which Nepal Rastra Bank caps at $500 per person per year. One AI tool fits easily. The trouble starts when you stack two or three, which is exactly what most freelancers and creators end up doing.
Here are four realistic yearly “stacks”, using yearly billing wherever it is offered:
| Stack | Tools (12 months) | Yearly cost | With 13% VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Student | Google AI Plus + Perplexity Education Pro | $180 (Rs 27,403) | $203 |
| Developer | GitHub Copilot Pro + Claude Pro (yearly) | $320 (Rs 48,717) | $362 |
| Content creator | ChatGPT Plus + Canva Pro + ElevenLabs Starter | About $528 (Rs 80,383) | $597 |
| Blogger | Claude Pro (yearly) + Grammarly Pro (yearly) + Canva Pro | About $560 (Rs 85,254) | $633 |
Share of your $500 yearly dollar card limit each stack uses
Before VAT. Canva counted at its $18 monthly US price for 12 months; a regional or yearly price will be lower.
Student stack ($180) 36%
Developer stack ($320) 64%
Content creator stack ($528) 106% – over the limit
Blogger stack ($560) 112% – over the limit
The lesson: a personal dollar card comfortably covers one or two AI tools, not three. And that $500 also has to cover hosting, domains and ads. If you also run Facebook ads from Nepal, one campaign can use up what’s left. Freelancers with foreign income can use a foreign-currency account, and IT companies can apply for NRB’s higher business card limits.
Three ways to stretch your $500
- Pay yearly. Claude Pro yearly saves $40, Grammarly yearly saves $216, Midjourney yearly saves 20%.
- Don’t double up. One $20 chatbot plus free tiers of the others beats paying for two chatbots that do the same job.
- Use student pricing where you qualify (Perplexity Education, GitHub Education, Canva for Education).
Official Price vs Nepali Reseller Price
Because many people don’t have a working card, Nepali shops sell AI subscriptions for eSewa and Khalti. Here is how listed reseller prices from 2026 compare with paying the company directly. We have not bought from these sellers, so treat them as advertised prices.
| Tool | Official (NPR/month) | Advertised reseller price | What that usually means |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Plus | Rs 3,045 | Rs 900–999 shared; about Rs 3,300–4,200 private | Only shared is cheaper |
| Claude Pro | Rs 3,045 | About Rs 3,800 and up | Paying for local payment convenience |
| Google AI Pro | Rs 3,043 | From about Rs 1,500 (often sold out) | Family-plan slots or promo offers |
| Perplexity Pro | Rs 3,045 | About Rs 2,500, or yearly deals | Promo or partner codes |
| SuperGrok | Rs 4,567 | About Rs 2,500–4,000 | Varies; ask how it is billed |
| Canva Pro | Rs 2,740 | From a few hundred rupees | Team invite or education account |
| Cursor Pro | Rs 3,045 | About Rs 999–3,800 | Low end is usually shared |
Before you pay a reseller, check these five things:
- Whose account is it? Activation on your own email is the only private option. If the seller keeps the password, others can see your chats and files.
- Why is it cheap? A private plan far below the official price usually means a promo code, a family slot or a team invite that can be removed without notice.
- Is it a real business? Look for a registered company, a website with an order system, and real reviews, not a WhatsApp-only seller.
- What is the refund policy if the account stops working mid-month?
- Does it renew? Reseller plans usually don’t auto-renew, so note the end date.
Free AI Tools and Student Discounts in Nepal
You can do a surprising amount without paying anything. Every tool below has a free plan that works from Nepal:

| DeepSeek | Free chat and reasoning | Not for private or client data |

Which AI Tool Should You Pay For in Nepal?
| You are… | Start with | Upgrade to | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| A school or college student | Free ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini | Google AI Plus or ChatGPT Go | Rs 0–1,218 |
| A researcher or thesis writer | Perplexity Free | Perplexity Education Pro | Rs 1,522 |
| A blogger or content writer | Claude Free | Claude Pro yearly | ~Rs 2,538 |
| A social media manager or designer | Canva Free + ChatGPT Free | Canva Pro, then ChatGPT Plus | ~Rs 2,740–5,785 |
| A developer | GitHub Copilot Free | Copilot Pro or Claude Pro | ~Rs 1,522–3,045 |
| A YouTuber or podcaster | ElevenLabs Free | ElevenLabs Starter or Creator | ~Rs 913–3,349 |
| An office using Word and Excel | Copilot Free | Microsoft 365 Premium or Business + Copilot | ~Rs 3,043 per user |
| A Gmail and Google Docs user | Gemini Free | Google AI Pro | ~Rs 3,043 |
Our default advice: use the free plans of two or three tools on your real work for a week. Pay only for the one you keep returning to, pay yearly if you are sure, and use your own card so your data stays private. Whichever AI you use, it can still state wrong facts confidently, so check figures, laws and anything you publish.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price of AI tools in Nepal?
Most AI tools have a free plan. The main paid plans of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot all cost about $20 a month, or about Rs 3,045 at NRB’s October 2026 rate of Rs 152.24 per dollar. Budget plans like Google AI Plus and ChatGPT Go cost about Rs 760–1,220, and power-user plans cost Rs 15,000 or more.
Which is the cheapest paid AI tool in Nepal?
Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month (about Rs 760) and ChatGPT Go at its localized Nepal price (from about Rs 760) are the cheapest paid AI chat plans. ElevenLabs Starter at $6 is the cheapest paid voice tool.
Which AI tools are free in Nepal?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Canva, ElevenLabs and GitHub Copilot all have free plans that work in Nepal, with usage limits.
Can I pay for AI tools with eSewa or Khalti?
Not directly. AI companies accept international cards, and their mobile apps bill through Apple or Google Play. To pay with eSewa or Khalti you need a Nepali reseller, which usually costs more for a private account, or you can load a prepaid dollar card from your bank and pay the company yourself.
Is VAT charged on AI subscriptions in Nepal?
Nepal applies 13% VAT to foreign digital services sold to consumers, and providers above the threshold must register and charge it. Whether it appears on your bill depends on the company. With 13% VAT, a $20 plan costs about Rs 3,441.
How many AI subscriptions can I pay for with a $500 dollar card?
One or two. A year of one $20 AI plan uses $200–240, or 40–48% of the $500 yearly limit. Adding Canva Pro and a third tool usually pushes you past $500, especially if VAT is added.
Are cheap reseller AI accounts safe?
Shared accounts are not private: everyone on the login can see your chats and files, and the account can be suspended. Private plans activated on your own email are safer but usually cost more than paying directly. Avoid deals far below the official price unless the seller explains how the plan is billed.
Which AI tool is best for students in Nepal?
Start with the free plans of ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. If you need more, Google AI Plus (about Rs 760) is the cheapest upgrade, and Perplexity Education Pro (about Rs 1,522) is best for research with sources.
Is ChatGPT or Claude cheaper in Nepal?
ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro both cost $20 a month. Claude Pro is cheaper if you pay yearly (about Rs 2,538 a month), while ChatGPT has the cheaper Go plan, which Claude doesn’t match.
Final word
AI tools in Nepal cost Rs 0 to Rs 45,000+ a month, but most people only need one $20 plan, about Rs 3,045, alongside the free tiers of everything else. Pay with your own card so your data stays private, pay yearly where it saves money, and plan your stack around the $500 dollar card limit before you subscribe to a second or third tool.
