Gemini price in Nepal 2026: Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra plans compared in Nepali rupees

Gemini Price in Nepal (2026): Google AI Plus, Pro & Ultra Cost in NPR

By Wilson Shrestha · Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Prices checked against Google’s official Nepal subscriptions page and Nepal Rastra Bank’s exchange rate

Search “Gemini price in Nepal” and most results are shops selling Gemini for anything from Rs 599 to Rs 9,999, with no explanation of why the prices are so different. The few explainer pages still call it “Gemini Advanced” and quote AI Plus at its old launch price.

This guide fixes that. You get every Google AI plan sold in Nepal converted to rupees at this week’s rate, the extra costs (13% VAT and the $500 dollar card cap), the free student plan most people don’t know about, how family sharing can cut Google AI Pro to about Rs 500 a head, and what those cheap reseller deals actually are.

Quick answer: Gemini price in Nepal (October 2026)

  • Gemini Free: Rs 0
  • Google AI Plus: $4.99 = about Rs 760/month (Rs 858 with 13% VAT)
  • Google AI Pro: $19.99 = about Rs 3,043/month (Rs 3,439 with VAT)
  • Google AI Ultra: $99.99 = about Rs 15,222, or $199.99 = about Rs 30,446 a month
  • Students: Google AI Plus free for one year for eligible university students aged 18+, if claimed by 31 December 2026
  • Resellers (eSewa/Khalti): Rs 599 to Rs 8,000+, usually for a family-group slot or a promotional term, not a plan you own

Rupee figures use Rs 152.24 per US dollar, Nepal Rastra Bank’s selling rate on 19 October 2026. Google bills Nepal in US dollars, so check the NRB forex page for today’s rate.

All Gemini Plans and Their Price in Nepali Rupees

What other Gemini price pages for Nepal get wrong

  • AI Plus is $4.99, not $7.99. Google cut the price in June 2026. Pages quoting $7.99 (about Rs 1,216) overstate it by 60%.
  • Ultra is no longer one $249.99 plan. Since Google I/O 2026 it comes in two tiers, $99.99 and $199.99.
  • Old exchange rates. Converting at Rs 135 makes Pro look like Rs 2,700. At October 2026 rates it is about Rs 3,043 before tax.
  • Reseller prices are not Google’s prices. A Rs 599 “18-month Gemini Pro” is a family-group slot or a promotional term, not something Google sells for that amount.

What Each Gemini Plan Actually Gets You

Google renames its models every few months, so focus on three things that separate the plans: which model you get, how much you can use it, and how much storage comes with it. Google doesn’t publish fixed message counts. Instead, usage is compute-based: a long, file-heavy chat uses more of your limit than a quick question, the limit refreshes every five hours until you hit a weekly cap, and you can buy AI credits to extend it.

Gemini Free (Rs 0)

The free plan uses the Flash-Lite model and still includes image generation, Deep Research, Gemini Live voice chats, Canvas and Gems, plus limited access to Google Flow and the standard 15 GB of Google storage. For homework help, translation, emails and quick research, it is genuinely enough.

Google AI Plus (about Rs 760)

Plus is the budget upgrade and the cheapest paid AI chat plan you can buy in Nepal. It doubles the Free usage limits, unlocks the Flash model and video generation, adds 200 Google Flow credits a month, puts Gemini inside Gmail and Vids, and raises your storage to 400 GB. Think of it as “Free with more room”, not “cheap Pro”: it does not include the Pro model.

Google AI Pro (about Rs 3,043)

This is the plan people mean when they say “Gemini Pro” or the old “Gemini Advanced”. You get the Pro model and Gemini 4 Argon, four times the Free limits, a 1 million token context window (Google says up to 1,500 pages of uploads), 1,000 Flow credits, Gemini in Gmail and Docs, entry access to the Antigravity coding platform and 5 TB of storage. Google AI Pro can also be shared with up to five family members (more on that below).

Google AI Ultra (from about Rs 15,222)

Ultra is for people who max out Pro every day. The $99.99 tier gives 5x Pro’s limits and the $199.99 tier 20x, with 10,000 or 25,000 Flow credits, Project Genie (interactive worlds), an individual YouTube Premium plan in supported countries and storage from 20 TB. For almost everyone in Nepal it is overkill, and a full year costs more than double the $500 dollar card limit.

The Real Cost of Gemini From Nepal

The dollar price is only the starting point. Three things decide what actually leaves your bank account.

1. Exchange rate and bank margin

Google charges your card in dollars, and your bank converts at its own selling rate, usually a little worse than NRB’s reference rate. The rupee also moves: NRB’s dollar rate was above Rs 155 in the second week of October and Rs 152.24 by the 19th. On Google AI Pro that is a difference of about Rs 60 a month for exactly the same plan.

2. 13% VAT on foreign digital services

Nepal applies 13% VAT to digital services that foreign companies sell to Nepali consumers. Whether it appears on your Google invoice depends on Google’s checkout for your account, so read the final total before you confirm. If it is added:

PlanPer monthPer month with VAT12 months with VAT
Google AI PlusRs 760Rs 858Rs 10,301 ($67.66)
Google AI ProRs 3,043Rs 3,439Rs 41,267 ($271.06)
Google AI Ultra (5x)Rs 15,222Rs 17,201Rs 2,06,416 ($1,355.86)

3. The $500 yearly dollar card limit

Most people in Nepal pay foreign subscriptions with a prepaid dollar card, which NRB caps at $500 per person per year. That cap, more than the price itself, decides which Gemini plan you can realistically keep for a full year:

How much of your $500 yearly dollar card limit each plan uses

12 months of each plan, compared with the $500 prepaid card cap

AI Plus for 12 months ($59.88) 12%

AI Plus + 13% VAT ($67.66) 14%

AI Pro for 12 months ($239.88) 48%

AI Pro + 13% VAT ($271.06) 54%

AI Ultra (5x) for 12 months ($1,199.88) 240% – not possible

Pro fits, but it uses about half your yearly allowance, and that same $500 also has to cover hosting, domains, Canva or a second AI tool. Our guide to the dollar card in Nepal explains which banks issue it, the documents you need and how the yearly limit resets.

Free Google AI Plus for Students in Nepal

This is the deal almost no Nepali price page mentions. Google’s Nepal student page currently offers Google AI Plus free for one year to eligible university students aged 18 and over. That is worth about Rs 9,116 at today’s rate.

What you get

  • 2x Free usage limits
  • 400 GB of storage
  • Video generation with Gemini Omni
  • Unlimited uploads for study notebooks, visuals and Gemini Live

The catches

  • Redeem by 31 December 2026
  • A valid payment method is needed at sign-up
  • It renews at $4.99 a month after the year unless you cancel
  • Student status has to be re-verified each year

Tip: claim it from Google’s student page, then set a phone reminder for the renewal date. If you only have a prepaid dollar card, check it has a small balance for the verification charge, and remember the renewal will start drawing from your $500 yearly limit if you forget to cancel. Eligibility depends on Google verifying your university, so not every college may qualify.

Gemini Family Sharing: Split Google AI Pro Six Ways

Google One plans can be shared with up to five other people in your Google family group, at no extra cost. Google says family members on a Google AI Pro plan get its AI benefits too, and each person uses their own Google account, so nobody can see anyone else’s chats, files or photos.

Plan manager pays Google AI Pro: Rs 3,043/month

↓ shares with up to 5 family members ↓

Manager

Member 2

Member 4

Member 5

Split six ways: about Rs 507 per person per month (Rs 573 with VAT)

That is cheaper than AI Plus for each person, with the full Pro model. Before you set it up, know the trade-offs:

  • The 5 TB is shared, not 5 TB each.
  • The manager controls everything. They can remove a member at any time, and if their card fails, everyone loses Pro together.
  • Some benefits stay with the manager only, and AI features are for members aged 18+.
  • It is meant for a real family group. Google’s family rules expect members to live in the same country, so it works best for your household or a close group you trust, not strangers.

Official Price vs Nepali Reseller Prices

Because many people in Nepal don’t have a working card, shops sell Gemini for eSewa, Khalti and Fonepay. Here is what Nepali sellers advertise in 2026 compared with Google’s own price of Rs 36,519 for 12 months of Pro. We have not bought from these sellers, so treat these as listed prices only.

Type of offerAdvertised priceWorks out toWhat it usually is
Official Google AI Pro (your card)Rs 3,043/monthRs 3,043/monthBaseline. Your plan, fully private

“Lifetime” Gemini ProAbout Rs 4,999UnclearGoogle sells no lifetime plan. Avoid
Ultra, 1 monthRs 3,000–9,999Rs 3,000–9,999/monthOften a pre-made account, sometimes with limits

Notice the pattern: every reseller deal is far cheaper than paying Google, which is the opposite of ChatGPT, where most private reseller plans cost more than the official price. That’s a signal. Google doesn’t sell Pro for 18 months at Rs 599, so the access comes from somewhere else: a family slot, a promotional offer, or a bundle. These can work fine for months. They can also end early if Google, or the person who owns the family plan, removes you.

Before you pay a Gemini reseller, check these five things

  1. Is it your own account? Only accept activation on your own Gmail. Never use a login the seller controls.
  2. Is it a family invite? If so, the seller is the plan manager and can remove you. Your chats stay private, but your access does not stay guaranteed.
  3. Is the term realistic? “Lifetime” and very long terms at tiny prices are the deals most likely to stop working.
  4. Is there a refund policy if Pro disappears in month three?
  5. Is it a real business? Prefer a registered company with an order system and a VAT bill over a WhatsApp-only seller.

How to Buy Google AI Plus or Pro From Nepal

Nepal is on Google’s supported country list for AI Plus, Pro and Ultra, so you can subscribe directly. You need a personal Google account you manage yourself (not a school or office account) and you must be 18 or older.

STEP 1

Get a card

A prepaid dollar card or an international Visa/Mastercard with online payments turned on.

STEP 2

Open Google One

Go to one.google.com/ai, or tap Upgrade in the Gemini app.

STEP 3

Pick a plan

AI Plus, AI Pro or AI Ultra. Plus and Pro are easy to mix up, so read the name twice.

STEP 4

Check the total

Confirm the final amount, including any tax, before paying. Turn on card alerts.

Google lets you cancel any time, but it gives no refunds for part of a billing month, so cancel a few days before renewal rather than after. If you pay inside the Android or iPhone app, the bill goes through Google Play or Apple, which can show a different price from the web, so compare before you subscribe.

Gemini vs ChatGPT vs Claude: Price in Nepal

All three big assistants charge about the same $20 for their main plan, so the choice comes down to the cheap tier, yearly discounts and what you already use every day.

Gemini’s hidden advantage is the bundle. If you already pay Google for extra storage, AI Pro replaces that bill, so the AI part costs you less than the headline price. For bloggers and SEO work

Gemini Pro is strong for outlines, drafts and summarising long competitor pages, but like every chatbot it has no real search volume or backlink data. Is Google AI Pro Worth It in Nepal?

At about Rs 3,043 a month, AI Pro is a real expense, roughly the price of a decent home internet plan. It pays for itself if you live in Gmail, Docs and Drive, need the 5 TB of storage, or can split it with family. It is harder to justify if you mainly chat casually, because Gemini Free and AI Plus already cover everyday questions. And whichever plan you pick, Gemini can still state wrong facts confidently, so check numbers, laws and anything you publish.

Yes. Nepal is on Google’s supported country list for AI Plus, which costs $4.99 a month (about Rs 760) and includes double the Free limits, video generation and 400 GB of storage.

Is Gemini free for students in Nepal?

Gemini Free works for everyone. Eligible university students aged 18+ can also claim Google AI Plus free for one year from Google’s student page until 31 December 2026. A payment method is required and it renews at $4.99 a month unless cancelled.

Can I pay for Gemini with eSewa or Khalti?

Not directly. Google bills Gemini plans in US dollars to an international card. To pay with eSewa or Khalti you need a Nepali reseller, or you can load a prepaid dollar card from your bank and subscribe yourself.

Why do resellers sell Gemini Pro so cheaply in Nepal?

Deals like Rs 599 for 18 months are usually a slot in the seller’s Google family group or a promotional term, not a plan bought at Google’s price. Your chats stay private on your own account, but the seller or Google can end the access early.

Can I share Google AI Pro with my family?

Yes. A Google AI Pro subscriber can share the plan with up to five people in their Google family group at no extra cost. Members aged 18+ get the AI benefits on their own accounts, and the 5 TB of storage is shared.

Does a $500 dollar card cover Google AI Pro for a year?

Yes. Twelve months of AI Pro costs $239.88, or $271.06 with 13% VAT, which is 48–54% of the $500 yearly limit. A year of Ultra ($1,199.88 or more) is not possible on a personal dollar card.

Is Gemini cheaper than ChatGPT in Nepal?

At the main tier they cost the same, about Rs 3,043–3,045 a month. Gemini is cheaper in practice if you use its family sharing, the free student plan or the 5 TB of storage in place of another storage bill.

Final word

The cheapest way to use Gemini in Nepal is the free plan, and university students should claim the free AI Plus year before 31 December 2026. For most working people, Google AI Pro at about Rs 3,043 a month is the plan to buy, and sharing it with family brings it down to about Rs 507 each. Pay on your own account so your data and access stay yours.
