Rockstar has published 8 official character profiles covering 9 people: protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, plus Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest, Real Dimez (Bae-Luxe and Roxy), Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. Its other copy and videos add more names, including Lori Heder, Wyman, Valentina, Andrés de León and Petra Navarro. The only performer confirmed so far is Stephen Root, widely identified as Brian Heder. Extra playable characters such as “Billy and Kai” come from the 2022 leak and are not confirmed.
Most GTA 6 character lists mix three very different things in one column: people Rockstar has officially introduced, faces spotted in a trailer, and names pulled from the 2022 leak. Then they add “unconfirmed” voice actors next to each one. That makes it impossible to tell what is real.

How we label each name
Rockstar has introduced its cast in four official ways. Each name on this page uses one of these labels, plus a fifth for anything that is not official.
- Official profile Has its own character page on Rockstar’s GTA VI site (“Only in Leonida”).
- Rockstar copy Named in another official text, such as a profile, edition description or Newswire post.
- Rockstar video Named on screen or in dialogue in Trailer 1, Trailer 2 or An Extended Look, with no profile.
- Radio host A real-world artist Rockstar announced as an in-game radio host.
- Leak / rumour From the 2022 leak or fan sleuthing. Not confirmed by Rockstar.
How the 36 official names break down
Counts as of 13 October 2026. Real Dimez counts as two people. The PTT Youngin$ crew and the TV character Macca the Gator count as one name each. Leaked names are not included.

GTA 6 has two playable leads. Rockstar’s synopsis sets up the story: an easy score goes wrong and the couple end up in a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other to survive.
Jason Duval Official profile
Rockstar’s tagline is that Jason wants an easy life, but things keep getting harder. He grew up around grifters and crooks, joined the Army to escape a troubled youth, and ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners. Rockstar says meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing that ever happens to him. He currently lives rent-free in one of Brian Heder’s properties in return for help with shakedowns.

Lucia Caminos Official profile
Lucia’s father taught her to fight almost as soon as she could walk. Fighting for her family landed her in Leonida Penitentiary, and luck got her out. She wants the good life her mother has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City, and she plans to take it herself. Her parents are mentioned in her profile but not named.
One detail most lists get wrong: Lucia is not the first woman you can play in GTA. The original 1997 game and GTA Online both let you pick a female character. Lucia is the first written, fully voiced female lead in a mainline GTA. More in our Lucia in GTA 6 guide.
Can you switch between them?
Yes. Coverage of An Extended Look (27 August 2026) describes switching between Jason and Lucia during play, including a car chase where one drives and the other shoots. Rockstar has not published the controls, so claims about a specific button are guesses for now.
The six official supporting characters
All six profiles went live with Trailer 2 on 6 May 2025. No new profiles have been added since, including after An Extended Look.
Cal Hampton
Jason’s friend and a fellow associate of Brian’s. Cal prefers staying home with a few beers, listening in on Coast Guard radio and reading conspiracy theories. Rockstar frames him as happy at “the low tide of America” while Jason has bigger plans.
Boobie Ike
A Vice City street legend who turned that past into a legitimate business empire: real estate, the Jack of Hearts strip club and a recording studio. His real priority is Only Raw Records, the label he runs with Dre’Quan. In An Extended Look he is the client behind the opening drug pickup.
Dre’Quan Priest
More hustler than gangster. Dre’Quan dealt on the streets to get by, but music was always the goal. He has signed Real Dimez and is moving from booking acts into Boobie’s club to chasing the wider Vice City scene.
Real Dimez (Bae-Luxe and Roxy)
Two friends from high school who turned shaking down local dealers into rap tracks and a big social media following. An early hit with local rapper DWNPLY made their name. Five years later they are signed to Only Raw Records and hoping for a second hit. Note that Real Dimez is a duo, so the eight profiles cover nine people.
Raul Bautista
A seasoned bank robber with confidence, charm and cunning, always looking for people willing to take big risks. Rockstar warns that his recklessness raises the stakes on every score. In An Extended Look he rides in the back seat during a highway getaway with Jason and Lucia.
Brian Heder
A drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys, still moving product through his boat yard with his third wife, Lori. He lets others do his dirty work, including Jason. In An Extended Look, Brian and Lori meet Jason and Lucia at a rooftop bar, and Brian appears again on a fishing boat. He is also the only character whose performer has gone on record (see voice cast).

These names appear in official Rockstar text but have no profile of their own. Most cast lists skip them.
Lori Heder
Named in Brian’s profile as his third wife; Jason is expected to drop by for her sangria. Seen with Brian in An Extended Look.
DWNPLY
The local rapper whose single with Real Dimez gave the duo their first hit. Named in the Real Dimez profile.
Wyman
A collector and fixer who gives you the Classic Car Collection commission: find and restore abandoned project cars. Ultimate Edition only.
PTT Youngin$
A loud, social-media-heavy Southside Vice City gang. The Ultimate Edition includes a raid on their Illegal Goods Store.
Macca the Gator
A character from a hit TV show inside the game world. The Ultimate Edition’s Goodtime Gear clothing is based on him.
Tommy Vercetti (reference only)
Edition items mention his palm-tree shirt and the “Vercetti Estate”. That is not the same as Tommy appearing. See Tommy Vercetti in GTA 6: rumors or real?
New names from An Extended Look
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premiered on Netflix on 27 August 2026 and then went free on YouTube and Rockstar’s site. It runs about 26 minutes and is captured from in-game footage on PS5. It introduced several new names through dialogue and on-screen detail. None of them has an official profile yet, so treat the finer details as provisional.

Valentina matters beyond her screen time: she is the first character from GTA Online confirmed for GTA 6’s story, which shows Rockstar is willing to carry Online characters into the new game.
Faces from the trailers
Trailer 1 (December 2023) and Trailer 2 (May 2025) include a handful of named or nameable people beyond the main cast:
- Stefanie — the first voice in Trailer 1. She talks to Lucia in a prison office; her desk nameplate shows her first name and a surname starting with G. The full surname some sites print comes from unofficial material, not Rockstar.
- Rudi — known only from a “RIP Rudi” post in Trailer 1’s social-media montage after a dangerous stunt.
- Phil — the face of an in-game Ammu-Nation advert. Fans read him as a nod to Phil Cassidy from Vice City; Rockstar has not linked them.
- Méndez — briefly in Trailer 2 before his bigger Extended Look scene.
- Unnamed viral faces — the “Hammer Lady”, a tattooed man on a news report, mud-party revellers and others are nicknames given by fans. They are parodies of Florida internet moments, not named characters.
Radio hosts: the real people in GTA 6
On 8 October 2026 Rockstar revealed the first six radio stations and their hosts on the Newswire, with previews on the official music page. Several hosts use in-game nicknames. This is the newest batch of names and is missing from most character lists.

Voice cast: what is actually confirmed

- Stephen Root told the Associated Press (reported 14 September 2026) that he is in GTA 6. He did not name the role on camera, but outlets including Variety identify it as Brian Heder, a voice fans had already recognised from Trailer 2.
- The radio hosts above, announced by Rockstar on 8 October 2026.
Not confirmed
- The performers behind Jason and Lucia. Names circulate from acting profiles and fan research, but Rockstar has announced none.
- Every other supporting role. Rockstar usually credits its cast at or after launch.
That is why this page does not put an actor next to each character. A name with “(unconfirmed)” beside it still spreads as fact once it is copied around.
Leaked and rumoured names (not confirmed)
These names come from the September 2022 leak of early development footage or from fan theories. Early builds change a lot, so none of these should be treated as final.
- Billy and Kai — listed in a leaked debug menu, which started rumours of four playable characters. Rockstar’s marketing has only ever shown two.
- Shanese — a social-media handle seen in Trailer 1 that matches a leak name; her role is unknown.
- Jay Norris — the GTA V tech billionaire reportedly mentioned in leaked material. Rockstar has not confirmed any returning GTA V character.
- Other leak names such as Vicki, Zach, Iris and RB Shaw appear in fan wikis with no confirmed role.
