GTA 6 Launch Times in Every Time Zone (Nov 19, 2026)

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it will not unlock everywhere at the same moment. According to the PlayStation Store listings, the game goes live at midnight local time in each region, so New Zealand gets it first and the US East Coast gets it about 18 hours later.

This guide lists the GTA 6 launch time for every major time zone, shows you how to convert it to your own clock, and separates what is confirmed from what is only reported. It also has a short section for players in Nepal, India and South Asia.

GTA 6 Launch Times by Time Zone

Every time below is 12:00 AM (midnight) local time on 19 November 2026. The UTC column shows the exact moment, which is the easiest way to convert to any time zone not listed. The chart shows how long after New Zealand each region waits.

GTA 6 Launch Time in Nepal, India and South Asia

Players in South Asia get GTA 6 in the evening and night before the US launch. Here is each unlock converted to Nepal Time (NPT, UTC+5:45):

• India: The game unlocks at midnight IST on 19 November. Sri Lanka shares India’s UTC+5:30 offset, so the clock time is the same.
• Nepal: Nepal doesn’t have its own PlayStation Store, so most players use another region’s store (often India’s). Your unlock time follows the region of your account, so the India row is the likely one, but check your own store page.
• Pakistan and Bangladesh: If their stores follow the same midnight-local rule, Pakistan (UTC+5) unlocks at 19:00 UTC on 18 November and Bangladesh (UTC+6) at 18:00 UTC. These two weren’t in the listings we found, so treat them as expected rather than confirmed.

Is GTA 6 a Global Simultaneous Launch?

No. A global launch would unlock the game at one moment worldwide. GTA 6 is reported to follow a staggered midnight rollout instead, the way many big console games handle launch night.

The practical effect is a gap of about 18 hours between New Zealand (11:00 UTC on 18 November) and the US East Coast (05:00 UTC on 19 November). If you’ve seen headlines promising a “19-hour head start”, treat that figure loosely, because the exact gap depends on which regions you compare.

How to Work Out Your Own GTA 6 Launch Time

You only need two steps, and it works for any time zone.

1. Find the unlock moment in UTC. Take midnight (00:00) and subtract your region’s UTC offset. If you’re ahead of UTC (a positive offset), the result lands on the previous day, 18 November.
2. Convert UTC to your clock. Add your own UTC offset to that UTC time.

If you’re in a different time zone from your store region, use the UTC time of your store region and convert it to where you actually are. That is how you avoid staying up for the wrong midnight.

What Is Official and What Is Not

Rockstar has confirmed the date, platforms and preload plans. The exact unlock times come from store listings, and Rockstar has not announced a separate launch-time statement. Here is the full status:

Some websites published conflicting schedules, for example one global moment for all regions or launch times in the middle of the day. Those don’t match the store listings or most other reports, so we haven’t used them. This page will be updated if the times change.

GTA 6 Preload Time (12 November)

You don’t have to wait for launch night to download the game. Rockstar says players who pre-order digital copies can begin preloading on 12 November 2026, a week before launch, starting at midnight local time. The physical edition is also a download code: the boxed version contains a code and no disc, and it goes on sale from 12 November so it can be preloaded too.

Preloading means the game is installed and waiting, so you can start playing the moment your region unlocks. For storage tips and other preparation, see our GTA 6 guides.

Can You Change Region to Play GTA 6 Early?

You’ll see claims that Xbox players can set their console location to New Zealand and play GTA 6 many hours before everyone else. PlayStation is different: purchases and codes there are reported to be tied permanently to the country where the account was created, so changing your console region won’t unlock the game early.
