Key takeaways
- Vianet sells three home plans: 200, 400 and 600 Mbps, all with a WiFi 6 router, on 3-month or 12-month terms only.
- Prices rose in early October 2026. 400 Mbps went from Rs 15,600 to Rs 18,360 a year, and the Rs 13,800 250 Mbps plan was replaced by 200 Mbps at Rs 16,830.
- The 200 Mbps plan is poor value: 400 Mbps costs only Rs 1,530 more a year (about Rs 128 a month) for double the speed.
- Paying yearly saves Rs 2,370 to Rs 3,050 compared with four 3-month renewals.
- After the change, Vianet is dearer than WorldLink 6G, Subisu, Classic Tech and DishHome at 200 and 400 Mbps. Its 600 Mbps plan is still competitive.

Vianet WiFi 6 plans explained
All three plans come with a WiFi 6 router and Priority Serve support. The difference is speed, and therefore how many people and devices the connection can handle at once.
WiFi 6 200 Mbps price
Rs 16,830 a year or Rs 4,800 for 3 months. Vianet pitches it for Full HD YouTube, video calls, online gaming and 4K on one app. It suits a home of one to three people with a handful of devices. It is the cheapest Vianet package, at about Rs 1,403 a month on the yearly plan.
WiFi 6 400 Mbps price
Rs 18,360 a year or Rs 5,250 for 3 months. Built for several 4K screens at once, with gaming and large downloads running together, and comes with Vianet’s latest WiFi 6 router. At Rs 1,530 a month it costs only about Rs 128 more than 200 Mbps for double the speed.
WiFi 6 600 Mbps price
Rs 22,950 a year or Rs 6,500 for 3 months. Aimed at large families with heavy use, people who download big games often, and creators who upload large files. It barely changed in October, so it is now Vianet’s cheapest plan per Mbps.
What every Vianet plan includes
- WiFi 6 router. Vianet lists its “latest” WiFi 6 router on the 400 and 600 Mbps plans.
- Priority Serve: same-day support for faults.
- Service Assurance: if Vianet takes longer than 24 hours to restore your service, you get free days added for the delay (details).
- Unlimited data, subject to the Fair Usage Policy explained below.
- Speed and latency are guaranteed only on a wired connection inside Vianet’s network, not over WiFi.
Vianet new connection price and installation charges
Vianet’s plans page now shows a single price per plan and no longer lists an activation charge or router deposit for new connections. Until early October 2026, new customers paid a Rs 565 activation charge and a Rs 1,000 refundable deposit for the WiFi 6 router on top of the plan price.
When you order, ask Vianet whether these charges still apply. Budget about Rs 1,565 extra to be safe; Rs 1,000 of that is refunded when you return the router.
Check coverage first
Vianet serves 90+ cities, but not every street. Search your municipality on vianet.com.np before you pay, and confirm a technician can reach your address.
Yearly vs 3-month plans: which saves more?
Paying for a full year is always cheaper than renewing every three months. The chart compares one year of service paid both ways.
Paying yearly saves Rs 2,370 to Rs 3,050 a year
Cost of 12 months of internet, VAT included: four 3-month renewals vs one yearly payment.

| Plan | Per month (3-month plan) | Per month (yearly plan) | Yearly saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| 200 Mbps | Rs 1,600 | Rs 1,403 | Rs 2,370 |
| 400 Mbps | Rs 1,750 | Rs 1,530 | Rs 2,640 |
| 600 Mbps | Rs 2,167 | Rs 1,913 | Rs 3,050 |
Cost per Mbps: the 200 Mbps plan is the worst value
Divide each yearly price by 12 and then by the speed, and the bigger plans come out far cheaper per megabit:
What 1 Mbps costs you each month
Yearly plan price ÷ 12 ÷ speed. Lower is better.
Calculated from Vianet’s yearly prices, VAT included.
Moving from 200 Mbps to 400 Mbps adds Rs 1,530 a year and almost halves the cost per Mbps. Unless you need the lowest possible bill, skip the 200 Mbps plan.
ViaTV price and set-top box charges
ViaTV is Vianet’s IPTV service, with 200+ channels, HD content, pause-and-play on live TV, and catch-up. It is an add-on, charged per TV on top of your internet plan.
| ViaTV | 1 month | 3 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| ViaTV package (per TV) | Rs 250 | Rs 750 | Rs 3,000 |
| Primary set-top box activation | Rs 2,500 | Rs 2,000 | Rs 500 |
- Extra TVs: Rs 250 per month per TV plus a one-time set-top box activation charge of Rs 2,760 per box.
- Cable: 1 metre of Ethernet cable is free with ViaTV; extra cable costs Rs 40 per metre.
- Take ViaTV on a yearly plan if you can. The primary set-top box activation drops from Rs 2,500 to Rs 500.
Source: Vianet add-on services table, checked 6 October 2026. Some news sites still show older set-top box charges and a Rs 1,000 box deposit; ask Vianet which applies when you order.
What you actually pay in year one: three examples
Most price lists stop at the package price. Here is the full first-year bill for three common situations, using Vianet’s own charges.
A family with two TVs pays over Rs 32,000 in year one
First-year cost, VAT included. Bar length is to scale; the total is shown on the right.
A. 200 Mbps, yearly, no TV
Internet Rs 16,830
B. 400 Mbps, yearly, 1 new ViaTV
Internet Rs 18,360 + ViaTV Rs 3,000 + Set-top box activation Rs 500
C. 600 Mbps, yearly, 2 new ViaTVs
Internet Rs 22,950 + ViaTV × 2 Rs 6,000 + Primary box activation Rs 500 + Second box activation Rs 2,760
Internet
ViaTV
Set-top box activation
New internet customers may also pay an activation charge and router deposit (Rs 565 + Rs 1,000 refundable under the old pricing). Ask Vianet when you order.
Extra charges: mesh router, cabling and XGS
| Item | Price (VAT incl.) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| WiFi 6 mesh device | Rs 3,500 each | Collect at an outlet, or pay Rs 250 for staff installation |
| Ethernet cable | Rs 40 per metre | Beyond the free 1 metre |
| XGS-Extreme ONU | Rs 5,000 + VAT, plus Rs 5,000 deposit | Only for 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps plans |
If WiFi is weak in far rooms or on another floor, a mesh device usually helps more than a faster plan. A faster plan cannot fix a signal that does not reach the room.
Vianet Fair Usage Policy (FUP) explained
Vianet home plans are “unlimited”, but heavy use in one month lowers your speed in three steps. Vianet adds your download and upload data together, from the 1st of each English month, and resets the counter on the 1st of the next month. Vianet does not publish the GB limit for each level. (Official FUP page)

On 400 Mbps: 5 Mbps
*Vianet says Level 3 is 10% of your speed or 5 Mbps, whichever is lower. On every current Vianet plan that means 5 Mbps.
If you hit the limit, Vianet’s Ultraboost feature lets you buy extra data at 100 Mbps from the customer portal or app. Vianet’s SOHO business plans have no FUP.
Which Vianet plan should you choose?
This is our recommendation based on price and typical use, not Vianet’s.
200 Mbps
1–3 people, browsing, YouTube and video calls. Only worth it if the lowest bill matters more than anything; it is the worst value per Mbps.
400 Mbps
Our pick for most families. 4–6 people, several 4K streams, work from home and gaming. Double the speed of 200 Mbps for about Rs 128 a month more.
600 Mbps
Large households, creators and heavy gamers. The cheapest Vianet plan per Mbps, and still priced close to WorldLink at this speed.
Weak WiFi, not slow internet?
Add a Rs 3,500 WiFi 6 mesh device instead of upgrading. Coverage, not speed, is the usual problem in multi-floor Kathmandu houses.
Vianet vs WorldLink, Subisu, Classic Tech and DishHome
ISPs in Nepal do not list prices the same way: Vianet and Subisu show prices with VAT, while WorldLink and DishHome show them without. The table adds 13% VAT where needed so you can compare like for like.
| ISP | Entry plan | Mid plan | Top home plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vianet | 200 Mbps – Rs 16,830 | 400 Mbps – Rs 18,360 | 600 Mbps – Rs 22,950 |
| WorldLink 6G | 200 Mbps – Rs 14,690 | 400 Mbps – Rs 16,385 | 600 Mbps – Rs 22,600 |
| Subisu | 250 Mbps – Rs 14,000 | 450 Mbps – Rs 17,500 | 650 Mbps – Rs 24,000 |
| Classic Tech | 200 Mbps – about Rs 12,868 | 350 Mbps – about Rs 14,550 | 500 Mbps coming soon |
| DishHome Fibernet | 200 Mbps – Rs 12,500 | 300 Mbps – Rs 14,500 | 600 Mbps GamePro – Rs 29,000 |
12-month price, internet only, VAT included. Vianet checked 6 October 2026; other ISPs from our own price lists checked 29–30 September 2026. Classic Tech does not state whether its prices include VAT, so its figures are estimates with 13% added.
What this shows:
- At 200 Mbps, Vianet now costs Rs 2,140 a year more than WorldLink 6G and Rs 4,330 more than DishHome.
- At 400 Mbps, Vianet costs Rs 1,975 more than WorldLink 6G, and Subisu gives 450 Mbps for Rs 860 less.
- At 600 Mbps, Vianet is only Rs 350 dearer than WorldLink, and well below Subisu Elite and DishHome GamePro.
- Price is only half the story. Ask neighbours which ISP gives the most stable signal and the fastest repairs in your area.
Vianet Dashain offer 2026 (2083) and other current offers
As of 6 October 2026, Vianet has not published a Dashain 2083 offer on its website. Last year’s Dashain offer included Rs 300 cashback for eSewa payments, a discounted mesh router and a “Spin the Wheel” draw for free months of internet. If you are not in a hurry, wait to see this year’s deal before paying for a full year. We will update this section when it is announced.
- Refer a friend: refer someone who installs a 3-month or longer package and you both get 1 month free, claimed at your next renewal (referral offer).
Vianet XGS-Extreme (1 Gbps and 2 Gbps) and business plans
XGS-Extreme is Vianet’s multi-gigabit service on XGS-PON fiber. It comes in XGS-Extreme Pro (1 Gbps up and down) and XGS-Extreme Pro Plus (2 Gbps up and down), with 3 ViaTVs, WiFi 6, Priority Support and a dynamic public IP. Vianet does not list prices; you request a quote, and it is available only in selected areas. (XGS-Extreme page)
Shops and offices should use Vianet’s SOHO and SME plans, which have no FUP, or ask for a corporate quote on the Vianet business page. Home plans are for residential use only.
