How big is the map?
Nobody outside Rockstar knows, and Rockstar has not said.
The estimates circulating range from roughly 1.5 times GTA 5's map up to more than double it, depending on whose methodology you trust — and some of the larger figures are derived from leaked engine data rather than anything measurable. They cannot all be right.
What is reasonable to say: the map spans several counties and covers city, coast, wetland, island and highland environments, a wider environmental range than GTA 5 had.
The map is measurable on 19 November and not before. We will publish a measured figure on launch day rather than pick an estimate now and quietly correct it later.
What about Gloriana?
Gloriana is Rockstar's version of Georgia. It exists in the game's world — license plates and road signs referencing it appear in official footage.
Whether you can actually drive there is a completely separate question, and Rockstar has not answered it. Treat "GTA 6 has a second playable state" as unconfirmed.
A note on the leaked map
A detailed map from a development build leaked in August 2026 and is now all over the internet. It is the source of most of the county names, town names and district labels you will see on fan maps.
It comes from an older build, so parts of it are likely to be wrong by launch — Rockstar changes things. And it is not ours to republish.
If a site is showing you a complete labelled map of Leonida today, that is where it came from, whether or not the site says so.
Common questions
How many regions does GTA 6 have?
Six are officially confirmed. There may be more; Rockstar has not published a complete list.
Is Vice City the whole map?
No. Vice City is one of six regions, unlike the 2002 game where the city was the entire map.
Has Rockstar released the official map?
No. Every full map currently online is either fan-made or from the leaked development build.
When does GTA 6 come out?
19 November 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC release has been dated.
